Rhema Church is an Indonesian church that was established in 2004 and dedicate Jesus Christ to be the shepherd of the congregation. Located in Sydney's Eastern suburb, we are an Indonesian church that is affiliated with Church of God Australia.
It begun with a corporate prayer every night during winter 2003 to search the Lord for His will upon the city of Sydney. In October 2003, the Lord opened the way through a meeting with the Overseer Church of God Australia. A suggestion to open an Indonesian church in Eastern suburb was then initiated.
In February 2004, Rhema Church held its first service at Maroubra. In June 2004, Rhema Church was blessed with a more accessible location at a hotel in Broadway. However, we realized that the Church's first calling for was for the eastern suburb, therefore Rhema Church returned back to the eastern suburb, at a school in Randwick.
Motivated to build a congregation whom will dedicate their life for the Lord and to become the light and the salt to the world, Rhema Church grew much dependantly to the Lord's helping hand. Although challenges and problems came one after the other, Rhema Church remains moving in faith.
As the number of the congregation grows, their spiritual life is maintained through seminars, retreat and teachings to recover their heart that will restore their relationship with the the Lord, themself and the others. Congregations are disciplined continuously with the Word of God, in order to live according to the Kingdom of God to become more like Jesus. Rhema Church missions are to dwell and root in the Word of God and to feel His presence in daily’s life. All of these are to provide the congregation in building the Kingdom of God and to brought His impact to the nation.
There is an excellent aphorism in relation with the Word of God in our life::
“Knowing is nothing, applying what you know is everything”
We are called the champion if we can apply the word of God in our life as it is said:
“Champions are not those who never fail, but those who never giving up”

Shalom brothers and sisters in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
My name is Janto Darmawan Suganda. On behalf of Rhema Church, we would like to welcome you to our website, and we hope that you will be blessed through our community.
I was born from a Christian family in Jakarta. I repented and live a brand new life in 1981 when I was studying in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Terumanegara. Through a fellowship in Jalan Mangga Besar, I started to learn to serve the Lord and to continue my ministry with outreaching to the small towns in the island of Java.
In 1987, I was sent for practical work placement in Ujung Pandang. During my one year placement, I started a fellowship. This fellowship grew very well until my time to return to Jakarta to continue my degree in Economics was drawing near. In the end, I had to entrusted the fellowship to another person that is also love to serve the Lord.
Together with other friends in ministry, in 1990, we initiated a ministry team, that grew to be a church called GBI Pelita Anugrah. The church was under Gereja Bethel Indonesia.
On the same year, I got married with a girl from Ujung Pandang named Diana Witto, and in the year of 1992, we were blessed with the birth of our only son Eliazar Timothy Chandra.
In the year of 1997, the Lord openned my way for ministry in Sydney. A pastor in one of Gereja Betel Indonesia in Sydney approached me to help out in the ministry. This church was soon affiliated with the Local church in Botany. I was then pastoring an Indonesian congregation.
After years of ministry in the church, in the begining of year 2004, with the grace of God and the agreement of the pastor in Boatany, I then initiated an Indonesian Church named Rhema Church that is affiliated with the Church of God Australia.
In the year 2007, I together with some other churches, initiated a network called Kingdom Mentality Network where we build relationships with other churches in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and even to Auckland. Through this network, help was sent to help the growing churches that joined in, to focus on the truth of the Bible.
In the end, this ministry can only exist up until today, it is all because of the grace and the guidance of the Lord Himself. Let all honour, praise and glory is for His Holy name alone, Jesus Christ.
